BANSKO IN WINTER

Click on picture to enlarge  or view webcam here

Bansko is vibrant and a hive of activity. With terrain to suit all levels of skiers and boarders (including some great off-piste). A modern, efficient Lift system, queuing is almost an unknown word! Après Ski is what you want it to be, whether you are looking for a relaxed cosy evening or an energetic evening in one of the local nightclubs.

Bansko is fast becoming an exciting place to spend a winter holiday. With 70kms of 'North' facing slopes and an annual snowfall averaging 2 metres, Bansko is almost guaranteed to be snow sure, but not leaving anything to chance 80% of the slopes  are covered by snow-cannons. With grades to suit everyone, from complete beginner to the expert, Bansko has it all, wide open slopes, tree line skiing and some excellent off-piste.

The 'Fun Park' on the area known as the Plateau is a favourite for the young at heart and the people who want to try something a little different. At some point during the season there is usually an international competition held here.

This coming season 2008 will see the opening of the area known as Chalin Valog which is located immediately below the mid station of the gondola. Up to now it has been for the most part un-serviced, and only used by enthusiasts who seek the un-pisted powder, but with the installation of a new chairlift, restaurants and snow canons this area will be accessible to everyone.

Beginners              The  nursery slopes should enable you to learn quickly then progress easily onto some of the more gentle red runs.

Intermediate        Bansko is without doubt an intermediates heaven! With wide open skiing/boarding at the top of the mountain before cruising down into wide tree lined runs.

Advanced              There are some excellent slopes for the advanced skier/boarder. Some of the red runs are also quite challenging and should keep the advanced skier entertained.

OFF-PISTE          Off-piste skiing/boarding limitless and excellent. (Please note if skiing/boarding off-piste, a guide is recommended and also please verify your insurance policy covers you).
