Travel Info
FLIGHTS
Bulgaria is just 3 hours flying time from London and is serviced by most major European airlines which offer Scheduled flights to Sofia. In winter there are also numerous Tour Operators that also offer seat only on their Charter flights. If you cannot find a direct flight please do not be put off by indirect ones, the Sofia route is usually quite well linked.
Bansko is a picturesque 2.5 hour journey South of Sofia, for which we will be more than happy to collect and return you to the airport at a very reasonable price.
As a small independent company we are at present unable to offer flights as part of our package, but flights can be booked via the internet or through any High Street Travel Agency. We can suggest for you a few internet sites which we have personally used in the past with no problems.

MONEY
The local currency is Lev. The exchange rate locally is usually somewhere around 2.8 Leva to the pound. Although Leva are now available in the UK, we would recommend that you wait until you get to Bulgaria to change your money. We would recommend however that you do not change at the airport on arrival as it is very likely you would get a very poor exchange rate. Sterling and Euros are acceptable for changing. Notes should be clean (no rips or writing). Bansko has many ATMs, where cards which have either Maestro, Visa, MasterCard or the Cirrus logo can be used. (At present LINK cards are not accepted in the ATM's).
