A gentle stroll along the foot hills taking in the flora and fauna of the area or a 10 hour hike that takes you over the 4 highest peaks (2000 metres +) and the area called Koncheto, which is a narrow ridge between 2 peaks, where the ground drops steeply away either side of you!  These are 2 extremes of walking/ hiking in the Pirin, but there are so many options in between these that to list them would be a mammoth task.  

The scenery in the mountains is absolutely outstanding and  most trails lead either to, or past a lake. With 120+ high mountain lakes in the Pirin mountains of varying size it really would be a shame not to visit at least 1 or 2 of them.

From pure adrenalin rush to gentle put your feet up kind of cycling, the area around Bansko is just perfect.

With many rural villages that are within easy cycling distance from Bansko its the perfect way to explore this beautiful part of the country. Or, if its more extreme you are after, the number of dirt tracks and accessible forest land is immeasurable.

The Pirin range being quite rugged is ideal for Rock Climbing. For the complete novice there are many ideal spots for your first taster. For the more experienced you definitely wont be disappointed. local guides and instructors are ready and waiting for their next victim! (Did I say victim)? Sorry, I meant to say, they are always ready, waiting and eager to introduce people to this fascinating experience. 

Horse riding in the Pirin and the Rila mountains is fantastic, the views as you trek through the forests are second to none. For the novice amongst you, there are instructors on hand to lead the way.
